01 January 2007 - Tube-Mac finalizes purchase...
In an ongoing effort to expand its product range in the non-welded technology of joining pipe or tube
Tube-Mac successfully purchased the rights to design, manufacture and market two product lines,
PYPLOK and AXISWAGE (formerly D-Lok) from Designed Metal Connections of California.
The PYPLOK fitting joins pipe or tube together by radially swaging the fitting on the pipe or tube using a swaging tool.
It is a permanent connection that goes on cold eliminating the risks and requirements associated
with "hot work" or "welded" connections. It incorporates three sealing methods.
Metal-to Metal, Viton o-ring and an outer Environmental seal to prevent crevice corrosion
and external contaminants from entering the system.
It was first deployed as a means of joining U.S. Navy shipboard piping in 1979. It is approved for use
by the U.S. Navy Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
AXISWAGE (formerly D-Lok) is setting the standard for fluid and gas connections. The fitting is
axially swaged on the pipe or tube using an easy-to-use and maintenance free tool. It is again a
fitting which goes on cold eliminating the risks and requirements associated with "hot work" connections.
AXISWAGE fittings have a metal-to-metal seal which is also permanent and leak tight.
Both PYPLOK and AXISWAGE fittings are available in carbon steel, stainless steel and copper nickel.
Other exotic materials such as super duplex stainless steel are also available for special applications.
Both fittings are available in a variety of shapes and sizes for pipe (NPS), tube (OD) and metric tube. |
